The NSW government is undertaking an audit on moorings in the harbour.

Moorings can be an inexpensive option for boats. But with so many new boats now on the harbour there is a danger that they pose a risk to safe boating and, and are often used to “park” unseaworthy craft. In adverse weather conditions a boat may “break” from its moorings which can cause serious personal injury, and damage to other vessels.

Friends of Sydney Harbour has set ourselves a task to investigate options to moorings and management of upkeep of vessels using them.
