The Mosman Rowers, a 109 year old iconic and heritage listed Club was at risk of closure in 2018. A small group of community minded members created and drove a New Era Campaign to not only save the Club, but to secure the future viability and sustainability of the Club through a long term lease with RMS and Mosman Council, a new professional operator and a $1m renovation of the Clubhouse.
Friends of Sydney Harbour was proud to be instrumental in supporting the New Era Campaign team to secure a meeting with RMS, and to provide the necessary guidance and support to the committee.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the foreshore lands, waters and sky, the Borogegal, Birrabirrigal, Cammeraygal, Dharug, Gadigal, Gayamagal, Wallumedegal and Wangal, Peoples. Highly significant to the Traditional Custodians, the creation story Boora Birra describes how the great eel spirit created the water courses known today as Sydney Harbour. It is also significant as the place of first contact between the Traditional custodians and non-aboriginal people.
