Friends of Sydney Harbour supported locals and activists in preventing the unacceptable development within UNESCO declared Opera House zone.
We all supported the NSW government, and North Sydney Council in opposing the DA even representing the Harbour at the hearing.
The government has offered to buy back the harbourside land, that is sited in the middle of a public harbourside park.
A real win for everyone.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the foreshore lands, waters and sky, the Borogegal, Birrabirrigal, Cammeraygal, Dharug, Gadigal, Gayamagal, Wallumedegal and Wangal, Peoples. Highly significant to the Traditional Custodians, the creation story Boora Birra describes how the great eel spirit created the water courses known today as Sydney Harbour. It is also significant as the place of first contact between the Traditional custodians and non-aboriginal people.
